eventcloud vs humanitix

A Booking Fee for Good. Or No Booking Fee at All.

Humanitix does something genuinely lovely — its booking-fee profits fund children's education. It still charges 5% + $1.29 a ticket, and by default holds your money until after the event. eventcloud charges one flat fee, $0 per ticket, paid straight to your Stripe. Here is the honest, respectful comparison.

TL;DR

The Honest Verdict

A platform with a real mission, and a very different cost model. Honesty first.

Choose eventcloud if…

  • You sell paid tickets at volume. Humanitix’s 5% + $1.29 per ticket scales with sales; our flat fee does not.
  • You want your money as you sell, in your own Stripe — not held until after the event.
  • You need conference kit: native badge printing, session tickets, per-ticket-type forms.
  • You want your own domain and white-label across the whole journey.

Choose Humanitix if…

  • You want your fees to fund charity — Humanitix is a not-for-profit and donates its booking-fee profits to children’s education (over $13M to date). That is a genuinely good reason.
  • You run free or community events and want zero cost with no subscription.
  • You like that the fee is passed to buyers by default, so you keep the full face value.

The per-ticket tax

One Conference, Two Invoices

A 1,000-ticket event at $100 a ticket.

With eventcloud
$1,500

One user for a full year. Unlimited events and tickets, paid to your own Stripe.

With Humanitix
$6,290

Humanitix's 5% + $1.29 on 1,000 tickets — about $6,290 in booking fees (passed to buyers by default, and the profit funds charity).

Humanitix passes its fee to buyers by default, so attendees usually absorb it — and that fee does good. The comparison is about your cost model: a percentage scales with sales; a flat fee does not.

Fair questions

Humanitix vs eventcloud FAQs

Is eventcloud cheaper than Humanitix?
For paid events at volume, yes — Humanitix's 5% + $1.29 per ticket adds up where our flat fee holds. But Humanitix passes its fee to buyers by default and donates the profit to charity, so ‘cheaper’ is not the whole story. For free or community events, Humanitix is a brilliant, free choice.
Does Humanitix hold my ticket money?
By default, yes — on its own payment gateway, funds are paid out within about five business days after your event ends. You can instead connect your own Stripe account to be paid directly as you sell. eventcloud always settles to your own Stripe on Stripe’s normal schedule.
Does Humanitix print event badges?
No native badge designer or on-site badge printing — Humanitix focuses on ticketing with a free check-in app. eventcloud includes a native badge designer and prints to any printer you own.
Should I use Humanitix for the charity angle?
If funding charity through your booking fees matters to you, Humanitix is a genuinely good choice and we will not pretend otherwise — it is a registered not-for-profit. eventcloud's pitch is different: keep 100% of your revenue at a flat fee, with conference-grade tooling.
