Add-ons are the things people buy on top of their pass: the gala dinner, a hands-on workshop, a parking space, a dinner place for a partner. They sit between choosing a ticket and paying, and they cause trouble when they are set up as extra ticket types, because a dinner place then becomes a second registration with its own form, badge and confirmation. Treat them as stock instead and the awkward questions answer themselves: how many dinner places are left, who has one, and whether anyone bought two when the rule was one per delegate.

Extras and optional extras are as common as add-ons in UK fee tables, while US platforms say add-ons or upgrades. An add-on hangs off someone's registration and never gets anyone through the door on its own, so a dinner with its own guest list and its own arrivals desk is better sold as a separate ticket type.

eventcloud tracks every unit against its attendee and lets your team move or void it, with one price per add-on. A workshop with limited seats can instead be an agenda session that delegates book and staff scan at its door. Coming soon: redeeming add-ons at the door.
