Fee Waiver
A fee waiver lets the right people attend without paying: invited speakers, volunteers, students, journalists, or delegates from lower-income countries at an international congress. Waivers are granted on application or by invitation, then applied through a code or a free registration category so the person registers like everyone else. Without a controlled route, waivers get handled by email, and the free places only show up in the numbers when the caterer counts the plates.
UK and international organisations say fee waiver or free place; US events say comp, short for complimentary, or comp registration. Congresses often publish their waiver criteria, and charities and non-governmental organisations use waivers to keep events open to people who could not otherwise come.
A fee waiver in eventcloud can be a free ticket type in a private ticket group, or a delegate your team adds by hand at no charge.
