Registration Type

Registration types sort people before they arrive. A full delegate, a speaker, an exhibitor's stand staff and a student pay different amounts, answer different questions and need badges that look different, and the type is what ties those rules together. Settle the list of types early: an event with one type for everyone ends up refunding the speakers who should never have paid and hand-writing badges for the press.

UK conferences talk about delegate categories, delegate types or delegate rates; US platforms say attendee types, registration types or ticket types. Congress fee tables can run to a dozen categories or more, each with its own early and late rates. Platforms disagree on the words too: a ticket type in one system is a registration type in another, so check what each means before mapping your categories onto it.

A registration type maps onto an eventcloud ticket group, with its own form, confirmation email and badge template and as many ticket types inside it as it needs.
