Registration Form

The registration form is where the organiser learns everything it will need later: the name for the badge, the company for the delegate list, dietary and access needs for the caterer and the venue, and the consents that decide what can be shared with sponsors. Every question costs a little patience, so the best forms ask only what someone will use. Ask too little and the team spends the week before the event chasing answers by email; ask too much and people give up halfway down the page.

UK congress forms talk about delegate types where US forms say attendee types, though both call the whole thing a registration form. Long forms are split into pages, and different audiences get different questions, either through separate forms or through rules that show and hide questions. Consent boxes should start unticked, because a pre-ticked box does not count as consent in UK and EU practice.

Each ticket group in eventcloud has its own drag-and-drop form with a live preview, every answer flows to badges, confirmation emails and the Excel export, and attendees can update their own answers, though not their email address, in the attendee portal.
